• Boko Haram: WAEC releases Chibok girls’ SSCE result

The West African Examination Council (WAEC) have released the results of the Chibok schoolgirls who were writing their Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) when members of the Boko Haram sect abducted them.

The results, according to the Minister of Education, Mallam Ibrahim Shekarau, is ready and is in his possession.

“The result is haphazard because when the abduction took place, some remained, completed their examinations, some were taking examinations and they were abducted”, said the minister.

He stated that a review was necessary because the examinations became “haphazard” as a result of the abduction.

The minister, assured the House of Representatives Committee on Education that the? Federal Government had not lost hope in its bid to secure the release of the girls, added that efforts were also being made to improve on girls’ education generally in the North-East zone.

The whereabouts of the girls remain unknown after more than 150 days of kidnap.
