UNIUYO Gets New Registrar.
The Governing Council of the University of Uyo (UNIUYO), at its 74th Meeting, announced the new Registrar of the University. He is Mr. Aniediabasi Daniel Udofia, who hails from Obotim Nsit, Nsit Ibom Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State.
Born in 1968, in the Village of Obotim Nsit, the young Aniediabasi Udofia had his Primary School education in the community’s Primary School. From there he proceeded to the Samuel Bill Theological College, Abak, where he had his secondary school education.
Mr. Udofia immediately furthered his tertiary studies in the now defunct University of Cross River State, where he obtained his first degree, B.Sc (Ed.) (Hons) in Political Science in 1991. Mr. Udofia’s thirst for knowledge which was whetted with the acquisition of a first degree drove him to enroll for and earn two masters’ degrees: M.Sc (Ed.) Educational Technology and M.Sc. International Relations in the years 2000 and 2002 respectively, both obtained from the University of Uyo.
He began his public service career in the University of Uyo where he worked in various capacities and designations such as: Administrative Officer II, Faculty of Science, 1993-1997; Administrative Officer I, Directorate of General Administration, 1997-2001; Assistant Registrar, Publications Unit, 2000 – 2001; Assistant Registrar and Head, Liaison Office, Lagos, 2001-2003; Senior Assistant Registrar, Publications Unit, 2003 – 2004; Principal Assistant Registrar and Head, Academic Staff Establishment Unit (Directorate of Personnel Affairs), 2009 – 2010.
In a bid to widen his scope and job experience, Mr. Udofia moved to the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta in 2010 where he served as: Deputy Registrar, Vice-Chancellor’s Office, 2010 – 2012; Deputy Registrar, Senate and Admissions Unit, 2012 – 2016; Deputy Registrar and Secretary, Postgraduate School, 2016.
Mr. Aniediabasi Daniel Udofia, who is set to assume duty on September 01, 2016, is happily married to Mrs. Itoro A. Udofia and is a father of five children. His favorite past.
