• Members of the 1998 set of the Department of Biochemistry, University of Ilorin have donated a set of Digital Water Bath and a set of UV-VIS Spectrophometer to the University.

Making the donation during a get-together held at the Faculty  of Life Sciences Board Room, the Chairman of the set, known as the Baroque Biomolecule Group, Mr Tolu Irewale, expressed the gratitude of members of the group to the University for the education they received at the Department.

Mr. Irewale said that he was proud to have graduated from the University of Ilorin even though he had the intention of staying in Unilorin for just one year and proceed to one of the first generation universities then.

He noted that old students who come back to their alma mater do not return on account of the formal academic relationship alone, but on account of the kindness with which their lecturers related with them when they were in school.

In his remarks, the Dean of the Faculty of Life Sciences, Prof. A. Sani, described Biochemistry as the foundation of life.

He commended the Professors of Biochemistry at the University for the kind of relationship they had with their old students.
