• The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, Prof. AbdulGaniyu Ambali, has said that all candidates seeking admission into the University would be given an equal opportunity, noting that Unilorin’s admission process is based on merit.

Prof. Ambali stated this last Monday, when he received the members of the Central Executive Council of the University Students’ Union in his office.

Explaining that the number of candidates seeking admission into the University is on the high side, the Vice-Chancellor noted that this is creating a huge pressure on the system.

Prof. Ambali, however, assured all admission seekers that the process would guarantee that every candidate is given equal opportunity.

The Vice-Chancellor pointed out that the University is raising top class graduates that are tuned to the frequency Nigeria needs.

Earlier in his address, the President of the Students’ Union, Comrade Alao Idris Ibrahim, pledged the students’ union’s commitment to redouble its support for the management of the University in the new academic session.

Commending the University management’s efforts on students’ welfare, the student leader praised the administration for the stable electricity and water supplies on the campus.

He stressed that the students’ body would do everything possible to support the upcoming 40th anniversary and 31st Convocation activities of the University.
