• The Federal Government has restated its satisfaction with the quality of projects, being executed by the University of Ilorin with funds sourced from the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund).

    The Minister of National Planning, Dr. Abubakar Suleiman, who made the observation while featuring on a special interview programme on Unilorin 89.3 FM radio station penultimate Saturday (March 7, 2015), also assured the University of the readinessof the Federal Government to commit more resources through TETFund to enable the University carry out more infrastructural development.

    The Minister, who was on an unscheduled visit to the University to inspect some Federal Government projects on campus, said, ”You have done so much at the University of Ilorin by committing the resources allocated to you judiciously. I assure you that we shall do more; we shall give you more resources in the next coming calendar 2015. We, the executive and the National Assembly, shall commit more resources to the University of Ilorin”, he stated.

    The Minister promised that the government would ensure the safe return of the abducted Chibok girls.

    According to the Minister, ”Government is committed to alleviating the suffering of the displaced people in the county. The Chibok girls’ issue was an unfortunate issue. Mr. President, and indeed the Federal Government, is committed to providing enough resources to cater for those displaced people, and bring the Chibok Girls back to their parents.”

    Among the projects inspected by the Minister are the Researchers’ Village, the Central Research Laboratory and the Entrepreneurship Centre.
