UNILAG Gets New DVC.
The University of Lagos (UNILAG) has announced the appointment of Professor Oluwatoyin Ogundipe as its new Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Academic and Research.
According to a statement signed by the Deputy Registrar in charge of Information, Mr Toyin Adebule, Ogundipe would succeed Prof. Babajide Alo, the immediate past Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Academic and Research. The appointment was with effect from April 1, 2016.
Adebule stated that the new DVC’s appointment was in accordance with the provision of the institution’s Act of 1967 as amended in Section 4 and 5 in the University Miscellaneous Provision Act, 1993.
He noted that the appointment was sequel to his election at the university’s Senate meeting held on March 30.
According to him, Ogundipe, who was appointed as professor in 2002, was also the Director of Academic Planning and a member of many scientific organisations.
He noted that the new DVC is from the university’s Department of Botany. (NAN)
