• The University of Abuja has gotten approval for its undergraduate engineering programmes from the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN).

According to a statement signed by the Registrar of the council, Kamila Maliki, two of the four engineering courses have been accorded full accreditation, while the other two were given interim accreditation.

The statement revealed that the chemical engineering and civil engineering courses have full accreditation, while electrical and mechanical engineering courses have interim accreditation.

The full accreditation status is valid for five years, while interim accreditation is valid for two years effective from 26th March, 2015.

COREN, however warned that accreditation may be withdrawn if there is clear evidence of failing standard.
