• GENERAL ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
    i) Applicants must write the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and attain an acceptable standard in the use of English (Compulsory) and three subjects relevant to the proposed course of study with Five (5) Passes at one more than two sittings.
    ii) Candidate must in addition to attaining an acceptable standard in the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination obtain one of the following qualifications.
    (a) National Examination Council(NECO)/West Africa Examinations Council(WAEC) Senior School Certificate (SSC) or the School Certificate / General Certificate of Education (SSC/GCE) or equipments with credit passes in Five (5) subjects relevant to the course and obtained at not sitting , except where otherwise specified.
    (b) Grade II Teacher‘s Certificate (TC II) with credit or merit passes in at least five subjects.
    **PLEASE NOTE THAT TC II IS NOT ACCEPTABLE FOR SOME COURSES.
    (c) National Technical Certificate (NTC), National Business Certificate (NBC) with credit passes in five (5) subjects relevant to the course of study and obtained at not more than two sittings. For the purposes of NTC/NBC , a credit in any General Education subjects, trade related subjects and trade component subjects is equivalent to a credit in a subject.
    (d) A credit pass in Mathematics is required for all Science based and Social Science courses except where it is stated otherwise.
    (e) A credit pass in English Language is required for all courses except where it is stated otherwise.
    iii) Successful candidates in Pre–NCE final examination who in addition take and succeed in a selection examination organised by an accredited body JAMB would also be qualified for admission.
    iv) It should be noted that some colleges may, in addition to all of the above, administer their own screening tests or interviews for some courses. This is legitimate.

    SPECIAL ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

    1. Physical Health Education
    (a) A School Certificate of WAEC/NECO with at least five credits, and two of which must be from the following: Physical Education, Health Science, and Biology
    (b) GCE O/L subject with at least five credits in two sittings, two of which shall be in Biology or Health Science or Physical Health Education.
    (c) Teacher Grade II Teacher’ Certificate (TC II) with at least Credit/Merit one of which shall be in Physical and Health Education, Health Science or Biology
    (d) Candidates should pass a physical fitness skill test to be conducted y the Department of Physical and Health Education of his/her choice College of Education
    Note: all short listed physical education candidates will be expected to appear for a physical fitness test at a date to be fixed later. Female candidates for physical education must also produce a pregnancy free clearance certificate.

    Minimum Entry Qualification for Pre-NCE Science
    Candidates for the Pre-NCE Science must possess one of the following:
    (a) WASC/GCE ‘O’ Level with passes in 4 subjects two of, which must be at credit level obtained at one sitting with at least a credit and a pass in the subject to be offered.
    (b) WASC/GCE/’O’ Level with Passes in 5 (five) subjects, two of which must be at Credit Level obtained at not more than two sittings with at least a credit and pass in the subjects to be offered

    Minimum entry Qualification for Pre-NCE French Candidates (for the Pre-NCE French)
    Candidates must possess one of the following:
    (a) WASC/GCE ‘O’ Level with passes in 5 subjects two of which must be at credit level obtained in one sitting or three credits must be EITHER, ENGLISH LANGUAGE, YORUBA, SOCIAL STUDIES; Which may be combined with French at the NCE Programme.
    (b) Teachers’ Grade II Certificate with Credit/Merit/Very Good/Good in at least 2 subjects, one of which must be in the subject as in (a) above.

    Minimum Entry Qualification for Pre-NCE Arts & Social Sciences and Education
    Candidates for the programme must possess one of the following:
    (a) WASC/GCE ‘O’ Level /SSC with passes in 5 subjects two of which must be at credit level obtained at one sitting or three credits in not more than two sittings. One of the credits must be in the subject to be offered at NCE level.
    (b) Teachers Grade II Certificate with Credit/Merit or Good in at least 2 subjects one which must be in the subject as in (a) above.

    Minimum Entry Qualification for Pre-NCE Technical & Vocational
    Interested candidates seeking admission into this programme should possess one of the following:
    (a) SSC/WASC/GCE/’O’ Level or TC. II with at least five passes not more
    than two sittings including English Language and Mathematics with Credit/Merit in at least two of the following subjects. Technical Drawing/Basic Electricity/Electronics, Auto – Mechanics, General Science, Integrated Science, Chemistry, Agricultural Science, Home Economics, Fine and Applied Arts.
    (b) City & Guilds /WAEC TECH /Craft, Part II Intermediate Certificate in Electrical Mechanic or Building with a background in Mathematics, English Language, Physics – Science & Technical Drawing.
    Or
    Federal Craft Training Certificate from a recognised Technical school with passes in 4 (four) academic subjects including English Language Mathematics, Science & Social Science.

    NOTE: AT LEAST A PASS IN ENGLISH LANGUAGE IS REQUIRED FOR BOTH THE PRE-NCE AND NCE PROGRAMMES.
