• A total of 58 students will graduate from Samuel Adegboyega University (SAU), Ogwa in Edo State during the maiden convocation ceremony of the university which will hold on Friday, 4th September, 2015.

Speaking at the pre-convocation media briefing, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Ben Aigbokhan, stated that four students will bag first class degree, while 23 others will graduate with a second class upper degree and 27 students will bag second class lower degrees.

He said that cultism is ruthlessly dealt with in the school as six students were expelled recently with one of them a pastor’s son.

The VC also listed the achievements of the institution to include the establishment of the Centre for Research and Development of Esanland as well as the partnership with the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development to nurture 10,000 oil palm nuts nursery to small-scale farmers, among others, in four years.

According to him, the development shows that SAU is competing favourably with other established universities.

Aigbokhan, who also added that all programmes of the institution were duly accredited, disclosed that a former Executive Secretary of the National Universities Commission, Prof. Peter Okebukola, would deliver the convocation lecture.
