• No fewer than 8,122 students received various degree certificates during the 23rd/24th Convocation Ceremonies of Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye, held on Tuesday.

    Speaking at the event, the vice-chancellor, Prof. Adejimi Adesanya, said that twenty six of the graduating students bagged first class degrees.

    Giving a further breakdown of the results, the VC stated that another 1,333 graduated with second class upper division, 4,925 bagged second class lower division, 2,239 bagged third class while 699 got pass.

    He said the best graduating student is Miss Ayorinde Damilola, from the Department of Plant Science and Applied Zoology with a cumulative grade point average of 4.86.

    In the postgraduate category, the school graduated 1,159 students with 98 bagging Ph.D, 850 master’s degrees while the remaining 211 bagged postgraduate diploma.

    The vice-chancellor congratulated the fresh graduates and added that the institution had recorded phenomenal growth in recent times in the area of infrastructural development.
