The Governing Council of Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ife has appointed Professor Eyitope Ogungbenro Ogunmodede as the new Vice Chancellor of the institution.
According to the Chairman of the OAU Governing Council, Dr. Yemi Ogunbiyi, who made the announcement on Monday, 21 applications were received for the VC position.
Ogunmodede, who is a Professor of Dentistry, was the former Dean of the College of Health Science at the institution.
He was born on January 23, 1957 in Owo, Ondo State.
Speaking after the announcement of his new appointment, Prof. Ogunmodede, solicited the support of staff and pledged total commitment, determination, hard work, quick consultative decisions, direction, impartiality and conscious enhancement of team approach.
