OAU Centre for Distance Learning Admission Application Details Announced.
Applications are hereby invited from suitably qualified candidates for admission into the undergraduate Distance Learning programmes of the Centre for Distance Learning, Obafemi Awolowo University (OAUCDL), Ile-Ife.
Admission into the distance learning programme is guided by the commitment to serve and meet the needs of people within the framework of the university’s general regulations governing admission and the nation’s policy for higher education.
Applicants must satisfy all published OAU admission requirements. Meeting eligibility criteria entitles an applicant to be considered for admission but does not constitute an offer for admission since the number of eligible applicants may exceed the number of spaces available.

General Admission Requirements:
To be eligible for admission into undergraduate programmes, the applicant must meet the subject, scholarship and examination requirement depending on the proposed degree, or an acceptable equivalent from an accredited university is required.
A comparable degree from a recognized foreign institution is also acceptable. The university requires a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.5.
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting – Five Years or Four Years or Three Years.
Admission Requirements;
a. ‘O’ level Admission (Five Years)
Applicants for admission into the programme should possess:
- Ordinary level credits in five (5) subjects – English language, Mathematics, Economics and any other two from: Government, Financial Accounting, Geography, Literature in English and Yoruba at not more than two sittings.
- Candidates for the ‘O’ Level admission must have satisfied the National cut off mark of 180 for UTME.
b. Direct Entry to part 2 (Four Years)
Direct Entry applicants should possess:
- Five credit passes in the GCE (or equivalent)Minimum of two (2) of these must be at the Advanced Level.
- Ordinary level passes must include English Language, Economics and MathematicsAdvanced Level passes shall include Economics or Accounting
NOTE: subjects are not counted at both levels of the examination. i.e. you cannot duplicate same set of subjects passed at Ordinary for A level passes (with the exception of Economics).
OR One of the following certifications: - OND at Upper Credit Level in Accounting , or Banking and Finance
- ATS-ICAN final stage certificate
- Final stage of association of Nigerian Accountants (ANAN),
- Final stage of Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers (CIS),
- Final stage of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (CITN).
c. Direct Entry to Part III (Three years)
- Five(5) credit passes in O/L including Mathematics, English and Economics AND any of the following certifications:
- HND in Accounting or Business Administration
- Final stage of ICAN certificate (ACA)
- ACCA or CFA, ACIB, ANAN (Plus HND or BSc in any Discipline)
- HND in Banking and Finance.
Bachelor’s Degree in Economics – Five Years or Four Years.
Admission Requirements;
a. “O” Level Admission (Five Years)
Applicants should possess:
- Ordinary level credits in five (5) subjects – Mathematics, English Language, Economics and two arts or social science subjects.
- Minimum of 180 UTME score
b. Direct Entry to Part II (Four Years)
Direct Entry applicants should possess:
- Five credit passes in the GCE (or equivalent)
- Minimum of two (2) of these must be at the Advanced Level.
- Ordinary level passes must include English Language, Economics and mathematics
Advanced Level passes in Economics and one of (Mathematics, Statistics, Geography, and Government)
NOTE: subjects are not counted at both levels of the examination. I.e. you cannot duplicate same set of subjects passed at Ordinary for Advanced level passes (with the exception of Economics). OR - Upper credit in statistics (OND)
- Ordinary level credits in five (5) subjects – Mathematics, English Language, Economics and two arts or social science subjects.
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing – Five Years.
Admission Requirements;
- Applicants must be nurses registered by the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (RN/ RPN/ RM/RPHN etc).
- Applicants must possess ‘O’ Level credit in five (5) subjects obtained at NO MORE THAN TWO SITTINGS.
- Ordinary level passes must include English Language , Mathematics, Physics, Biology and Chemistry.
Method Of Application:
- Application forms are available only ONLINE on http://apply.oaucdl.edu.ng/ on payment of a sum of Fifteen Thousand Naira (N15, 000) through the use of any bank’s Verve or Mastercard.
- Sign Up on the Portal by completing the fields.
- A verification email will be sent to your mail. Click on this link to confirm your email address.
- Proceed to fill in and upload your credentials.
- Click ‘Pay’ to continue with online payments. Interswitch payment gateway is displayed, click the ‘Continue’ button to generate TransactionID and also to display the interswitch payment panel where you insert your ATM debit card details to complete your transaction.
- Complete application once payment has been confirmed successful.
– After successful payment of your application, a notification email would be sent to you with a link
– The Link will take you to an automatic O/Level screening portal.
– Successful applicants will then immediately receive their admission status via email as well as log in details.
