• The Nasarawa State Governor, Umaru Tanko Al-makura, has called on the West African Examination Council (WAEC) to review its fees downward in line with current economic realities so that parents can afford to pay for their children and wards.

Al-makura, who made the appeal on Wednesday in Lafia when the Head National Office (HNO) of WAEC, Charles Egudiri, paid him a courtesy call in his office, promised to support and patronise the body.

He promised to provide them with a temporary office accommodation while a land will be a earmarked for the body to build its office.

In his reaction, the WAEC HNO, Mr. Egudiri, stated that Nasarawa State is not among the states owing WAEC.

He said that the examination body is happy with the state in terms of performance and operation during the conduct of its exercises in the state.

The WAEC boss requested for a parcel of land to build its office in the state so as to avoid shuttling between Abuja and the state during the conduct of the exercise.
