Ego has essentially been a teacher, a house wife and a social worker, the trio of which she combines very marvelously. She has an amazing energy for work and a high capacity for organization. These talents are supplied by her absolute humility, generality and generosity.

Ego is obsessed with human engineering, empowering people both as a teacher and social worker since her NYSC days when she took off as a classroom teacher at Wurno T.T.C., Sokoto in 1976. She taught briefly at St. Monicas T.T.C., Ogbunike (1977 – 1979) before proceeding to the University in 1979/1980. Since 1981, she has been teaching at the College of Education, Awka (now defunct) and Nsugbe, and has risen to the rank of Principal Lecturer, the job she has combined admirably with social work, first as Director of Diocesan Catholic Women Organization (1994 – 2002).

Dr. Ego Uzoezie belongs to at least six learned societies and thirteen social and religious organizations including Nigerian Society of Educational Psychologists (NISEP), Home Economics Society of Nigeria (HESON), Science Teachers Association (STAN), Diocesan Catholic Women Organization (CWO), National Council of Women Society, and Christian Association of Women (Women Wing) (WOWICAN).

Dr. Uzoezie has traveled and represented Nigerian women in different capacities at home and abroad. She has over twenty-five academics publications in the form of books, book chapters and learned journal articles as well as having participated in workshops, exhibitions and editorships. She has also many papers presented at Conferences.

One can mention here that she was one of the ten-member Transition Committee in the Mr. Peter Obi Administration between March and April 2006 before she was appointed the Honorable Commissioner for Women Affairs in Anambra State from (2006 – 2012).

Presently she is the Provost of Nwafor Orizu College of Education, Nsugbe since 14th March, 2014 to date.

Ego is happily married to Ralf Uzoezie, the marriage that has been amply blessed with five children.
