• NECO Not Ready For CBT Examination Yet.

The National Examination Council will not migrate to Computer Based Test (CBT) mode for objective questions as planned until adequate facilities are put in place.

This was disclosed by the NECO’s Abuja Liaison Officer, Mr Abdul Mustapha, on Wednesday in Abuja.

Mustapha said the council has made preparations for CBT but had to put it on hold until the various states fix the requisite facilities.

“NECO examination has components of essay, practical, oral and objective.

“CBT is only possible with objective component; machinery has been put in place to do the CBT in the objective component.

“However, that will take time; because to do CBT, states must have centres for it.

“Our examination takes place even in the most remote rural areas,” he said.

It would be recalled that the new NECO Registrar, Prof. Abdulrashid Garba, said recently that migrating to CBT would make the examination less cumbersome and cost effective. (NAN)
