• Nasarawa State Poly Reopened After Students’ Protest.

The Management of Nasarawa State Polytechnic, Lafia has announced the re-opening of the institution which was closed down in July following student’s protest.

In a statement signed by the Registrar of the polytechnic, Mr Labani Joseph, and was released on Friday, each returning student would only be allowed to resume on some conditions stipulated by the management.

He said that each resuming student is required to submit a letter of undertaking to be of good behaviour signed by their respective Local Government chairmen or by a civil servant not below the rank of a director in service before being readmitted.

“They will also submit a bank teller each showing evidence of payment of the sum of N2,000 into the institution’s account with the Unity Bank as fine for damages caused during their protest of July 27.

“Failure to present these items by any student, will amount to forfeiting his or her studies with the institution,” he said.

Mr. Jseph advised students to comply and resume immediately as academic activities would commence without further delays to meet up with the school’s academic calendar for the year. (NAN)
