• MAUTECH Holds 21st and 22nd Convocation Ceremony.

    No fewer than 3,809 students received their first degree certificates during the 21st and 22nd combined Convocation
    Ceremony of the Modibbo Adama University of Technology (MAUTECH), Yola held last week.

    Speaking at the event, the Vice Chancellor of the university, Prof Kyari Mohammed, said that the total number of graduands was made up of 2,101 for 2015 session and 1,708 for the 2016 session, with 37 of them bagging First Class degrees.

    In a further breakdown of the results, the VC said that 807 students graduated in the Second Class upper division while 1,791 were in the Second Class lower division. Another 1,029 made Third Class degrees and 145 graduated with Pass.

    In the School of Postgraduate Studies, Mohammed said there were 129 Postgraduate Diplomas, 508 Masters and 88 Doctorate Degrees in various fields.

    He said that the university has made a significant achievement in NUC accreditation, provision of municipal services, organization and attendance of conferences, university Students Support Scheme and commissioning of capital projects.

    High-point of the occasion was the presentation of an honorary Doctorate Degree to Professor Vincent Chukwuemeka Ike, the Eze Ikelionwa X1 of Ndike in Anambra State for his outstanding contributions to education, societal growth, national cohesion and human development.
