Maritime Academy pre-HND in marine engineering admission form is out. Applications are invited from suitably qualified Ex-cadets of Electrical/Electronics Engineering of the Maritime Academy of Nigeria, Oron into Pre-HND programme in Marine Engineering for the 2015/2016 Academic Session.
PROGRAMME ON OFFER
Pre-HND (Marine engineering)
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Candidates must be holders of National Diploma in Electrical/Electronics Engineering from the Maritime Academy of Nigeria, Oron.
THE PROGRAMME
The Pre-HND programme in Marine Engineering is a bridging programme, design to offer the current National Diploma graduates an opportunity to remedy some core courses in Marine Engineering that they did not offer and cross over to Higher National Diploma in Marine Engineering.
DURATION OF THE PROGRAMME
The Pre-HND in Marine Engineering shall be run for two (2) semesters (one session). The programme is residential on full time basis, and on successful completion of the programme, interested candidates would be qualified for direct entry into the Higher National Diploma programme in Marine Engineering.
A. PRE-HND APTITUDE TEST
To be admitted into the Pre-HND programme, candidates would be subjected to aptitude test which would be conducted as stated below;

24th – 26th August, 2015
Venue: Maritime Academy of Nigeria
P.M.B. 1089, College Road, Oron,
Akwa Ibom State
Time: 0730 hour (each day)
Requirement for the Screening Exercise:
Candidates are requested to report at the Administrative Block Conference Hall with a bank draft for the sum of N10,000.00 and addressed to the Maritime Academy of Nigeria, Oron, to take care of administrative cost. However, where a candidate cannot secure a bank draft, such candidate(s) can as well come to the venue with cash.
B. HND/PGD APTITUDE TEST
Candidates who applied for any of the Academy HND/PGD programmes are also invited for Aptitude Test as follows:

7th – 11th September, 2015
2. Venue: Maritime Academy of Nigeria
P.M.B. 1089, College Road, Oron,
Akwa Ibom State
3. Time: 0730 hour (each day)
4. Courses:
HND – Nautical Science
HND – Marine Engineering
HND – Maritime Transport and Business Management
PGD – Shipping and Transport Management
PGD – Maritime Transport Technology
PGD – Maritime Engineering
5. Requirements for the Screening Exercise:
Candidates are requested to report for the aptitude test with the following:
i) Original copy of NYSC Discharged Certificate/Exemption Certificate/Exclusion Certificate.
ii) Original copy of credentials including National Diploma Certificate (for HND candidates).
iii) Original copy of Degree/HND Certificate for (PGD Candidates).
iv) Letter of one (1) year Industrial Attachment (or two years for candidates with a Pass result).
v) Certificate of membership with relevant professional body (for PGD Candidates).
Note: Candidates for HND and PGD programmes are requested to come to the interview venue with a bank draft for the sum of N25,000.00 and addressed to the Maritime Academy of Nigeria, Oron, to take care of administrative cost. However, where a candidate cannot secure a bank draft, such candidate(s) can as well come to the venue with cash.
CANDIDATE WHOSE ACADEMIC TRANSCRIPT IS NOT RECEIVED IN THE ACADEMY BEFORE THE CLOSE OF ADMISSION EXERCISE SHALL HAVE HIS/HER ADMISSION FORFEITED.
