The lecturers of the Kano State University of Science and Technology (KUST), Wudil, under the aegis of Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), has threatened to embark on an industrial action if their 2014 promotion arrears is not pain soonest.
This was contained in a statement signed by Dr. Abdulkadir Muhammad and Arc. Kashim Ibn Yakubu, Chairperson and Secretary of the union in Kano yesterday.
The statement stated that the union had observed with dismay, the continued delay in the implementation of the 2014 promotion exercise.
The union noted that the promotion exercise was conducted in October 2014 across different cadres of staff, but that the university had failed to implement it with cash backing.
ASUU added that the development had resulted in accumulation of arrears spanning over nine months.
