• No few than 4,396 students were admitted into the Kogi State University (KSU), Anyigba during the 2014/2015 academic session matriculation ceremony held recently.

    In a breakdown of the admitted students according to faculties, it was revealed that 394 students were admitted into the Faculty of Agriculture, 679 in Faculty of Arts and Humanities, 806 in Faculty of Education, 84 in Faculty of Law, 779 in Management Sciences, 42 in College of Medicine, 615 in Faculty of Natural Sciences and 997 in Faculty of Social Sciences.

    Speaking at the matriculation event, the Vice-Chancellor of the institution, Professor Hassan Isah, charged the freshers not to allow themselves to be carried away by the social life around the university environment.

    He assured them of the management’s readiness to create platform for hard-working and serious-minded students to achieve their aims.

    Prof. Isah urged the students to be worthy ambassadors of the university and avoid engaging in vices, such as cultism, examination malpractice, harassment and drug abuse, as the school had zero tolerance for misconduct.

    The VC assured that efforts were being made to address the accommodation problem in the school, citing the recent commissioning of two new hostel blocks by Governor Idris Wada.
