JAMB REGISTRATION 2013: EXAM CENTRES FOR STATES IN SOUTH-EAST & SOUTH-SOUTH FILLED UP!!
In the past few days, Jambites in the South-East and South-South states has been unable to complete their registration for the 2013/2014 JAMB Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) as centers for the Pencil and Paper Test (PPT) form of the exam in the region has been filled.
Investigations by CampusPortalNigeria revealed that thousands of Jambites are yet to complete their registration on the JAMB UTME 2013 e-Registration Portal as the Pencil and Paper Test (PPT) format has been the favourite among the candidates.
It was also revealed that even as centres for the PPT exam are no longer available in the affected region, centres for the Computer Based Test (CBT) are still available in the same region which leads to speculations that the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board will indirectly impose the Computer Based Test on some 2013 UTME candidates.
This development has generated tension among the 2013 Jambites and their guardians. A visit to some of the Jamb accredited Cyber cafe’s in Anambra and Enugu state revealed this, as hundreds of students are seen trooping in and out of the Cafe’s while discussing their fate.
Cyber Cafe’ owners and attendants were not left out in the quagmire as some of the Jambites aggressively heaped blames on them.
It is unclear at the moment if the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board will create more PPT centres in the affected states.
It will be recalled that the House of Representatives recently directed the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) to suspend its newly introduced computer-based test (CBT) citing what it tagged a “policy somersault”.
