• An accreditation team from the National University Commission (NUC) visited Imo State University to access the Faculty of Education courses offered by the institution.

Speaking during the visit, the chairman of the NUC team, Prof. Jeremaiah Ojediran, thanked the governor of Imo state for investing in the area of human resources and noted that he was inadvertently investing in the future generations.

Prof. Ojediran  promised that the accreditation team would be objective in carrying out its assignments in the school.

In his reaction, the Governor of Imo State, Chief Rochas Okorocha expressed optimism that 16 courses in the faculty of education would be accredited.

He regretted that the IMSU was yet to boast of infrastructural development, like its counterpart in other states, saying that in the next two years, the profile of the institution would be raised to meet international standard.

In her remarks, the Acting Vice Chancellor of IMSU, Prof. Adaobi Obasi, thanked the governor for upgrading 16 departments of the university.
