The management of Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida University (IBBU), Lapai, has concluded arrangements to understudy the University of Ilorin in the area of research structure, organisation, management and best practices.
The Director of Academic Planning of IBBU, Prof. M. T. Mustapha, who made this known last Monday, when he visited the Vice-Chancellor of UniIlorin in his office, said, “We want to be associated with you as we seek closer collaboration with the University. Based on your track record, it is clear that you are our choice University to understudy. We want to move fast, but we do not want to re-invent the wheel since we can leverage on your achievements”.
According to the Director, such association with the University of Ilorin would foster more relationship and mentorship, expressing the hope that it would be a long-lasting relationship”.
In his response, the Vice-Chancellor of the UniIlorin, Prof. AbdulGaniyu Ambali, who was represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), Prof. N. Y. S. Ijaiya, congratulated Prof. Mustapha, an alumnus of the University, on his appointment as IBBU Director of Academic Planning.
Prof. Ambali said, “We appreciate our alumni when they take on responsibilities. It shows that your training here was not in vain”.
The Vice-Chancellor expressed appreciation for the determination of IBBU to move forward and its humility to learn from the University of Ilorin, saying, “We already have an existing relationship with you, but we will make it even stronger”.
