• The Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology Minna, Prof. Musbau Akanji, has called on the Federal Government to allow private universities in the country access the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFUND).

    Prof. Akanji, who was speaking at Al-Hikmah University Ilorin, urged the federal government to review the Act establishing TETFUND to accommodate the private universities in its activities.

    It will be recalled that the vice chancellor of Igbinedion University, Okada, Professor Eghosa Osaghae, had earlier lamented the exclusion of private universities from the proceeds of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFUND) by the federal government.

    Akanji, the pioneer vice chancellor of Al-Hikmah University was honoured as part of activities marking the 10th year anniversary of the university in Ilorin.
