• The Federal University, Oye Ekiti (FUOYE) orientation programme for new students admitted for the 2014/2015 academic session kicked off on Wednesday January 14, 2015 with several events including lectures and talks on various academic and related issues as concerned the students.

    During the opening ceremony, the Vice Chancellor, Professor Isaac Asuzu, represented by the Dean Student Affairs, Dr O. O. Fasoranti expressed delight at the commencement of the 2014/2015 academic session and commended the news students for beating the hyper-competition for admission into Nigerian universities.

    The VC pointed out to the enthusiastic students that the orientation was to acquaint them with their rights and privileges, as well as their duties and obligations within the campus.

    He informed them that the university owed them the obligation to train them and prepare them to be useful within the world market for human resources.

    He therefore urged them to take their studies serious and avoid drugs, cultism, examination malpractices and other irresponsible conducts that were capable of truncating their academic pursuit.

    The Ag. Registrar of the university, Mr. Daniel Adeyemo, represented by Mr. D. A. Fatuase spoke to the students on the missions and visions of the university.

    He invited them to think of the things they gave up for this academic pursuit and urged them to define their purpose of being in the university, and then work hard to achieve it.
