• The Ekiti State Police command has assured the Federal University Oye-Ekiti of a cordial and harmonious working relationship.

    This was made known by the State Police Commissioner, Mr. Etop John James, when he visited the university while on their familiarization tour of police formations and traditional institutions across the state.

    The police boss in company of some of his other commanding officers such as the officer -in-charge of the Mobile Police and the OC CIB, among others, was received by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Isaac Asuzu, in his office.

    The police boss said he came and inherited a harmonious working relationship between the institution and the command and reiterated that his officers and men are always willing to offer necessary services to the university community.

    He promised that no effort will be spared towards providing an enabling environment for a peaceful co-existence between town and gown.

    Responding, the Vice Chancellor, Professor Isaac Asuzu applauded the police for ensuring peace in FUOYE. He appreciated the OC Mopol and his men especially for their unrelenting efforts and support during the staff unrest of December 2014.

    He assured his guests and the police command at large that the institution would continue to relate with the police not only in times of trouble but as partners in progress.

    The VC hinted that FUOYE in due course might introduce courses such as law, criminology and ICT that would in volve officers and men of the police.
