• The Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN) has donated some digital accounting learning tools and books to the Federal University Ndufu-Alike Ikwo (FUNAI) to enable her set up an Accounting Laboratory to enhance the proficiency and professionalism of students in the accounting discipline of the University.

    The items included 10 pieces of Dell Computers installed with international standard accounting software, 10 pieces of UPS, 10 pieces of wooden tables and white plastic chairs, a notice board and 200 volumes of 59 titles of current accounting books.

    The donation was a fulfillment of an earlier pledge made by the immediate past President of the Association, Alhaji Sakirudeen Tunji Labode, when he led the national executive of the association on a courtesy call on the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Oye Ibidapo-Obe on October 13th, 2014.

    The current National President of ANAN, Chief A.C. Nzom in presenting the items, stated that the fulfillment of the pledge made by the immediate past president of the association was to enable the Accountancy Department of FUNAI bridge the knowledge gap between theory and practice, to ensure that its accounting students met the required international accounting professional standard especially in the use of digital tools like computers and accounting software in accounting practice.

    In his response, the Vice Chancellor of FUNAI, Prof. Oye Ibidapo-Obe who was represented the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Prof. Mosto Onuoha, expressed the gratitude of the University Management to the President of Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN), Chief A.C. Nzom and his team for fulfilling the promise they made in 2014.

    Prof. Ibidapo-Obe assured the ANAN team of the optimum utilization of the tools and books for students’ growth and development, and stated that the University Management had already identified a comfortable place where the materials would be installed to ensure its protection and accessibility by students.

    The Registrar, Mr. G. O. Chukwu, had earlier received the first batch of the consignment from ANAN.
