• A total of 2,291 students received their first degree certificates during the 21st Convocation Ceremony of the Federal University of Agriculture, Makurdi (FUAM) held on Saturday, 24th January 2015.

Speaking at the event, the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Emmanuel Kucha, said that three of the graduands bagged First Class degrees.

He added that the university graduated a total of 471 postgraduate students with 20 of them bagging Doctorate degrees.

In his address, the Pro-Chancellor, Chief Chike Udenze, called on the staff and students to ensure that the prevailing peace and stability on campus was sustained in order to ensure the rapid growth of the University and the development of agriculture in the country.

He appealed to public spirited individuals as well as the Institution’s alumni, to assist the University, particularly, by providing infrastructure and facilities for the hosting of the 25th edition of the Nigerian University Games Association (NUGA) by the University later in the year.

The highlight of the Convocation was the conferment of the University’s honorary degree on a former Chief of Defense Staff and current Chairman of the Subsidy Re-Investment Programme (SURE-P), retired General Martins Luther Agwai, for his contribution to peace and security in Nigeria and abroad.
