• Federal Polytechnic Mubi Holds 33rd Matriculation Ceremony.

About 4,600 students were admitted into the Federal Polytechnic Mubi in Adamawa state during the 33rd matriculation ceremony of the institution held on Wednesday.

Speaking at the ceremony, the Rector of the polytechnic, Dr Sadiq Yahya said the students are both for National Diploma and Higher National Diploma programmes.

While congratulating new students, Yahya enjoined them to be disciplined as the management will punish and resist any unwholesome behavior from any quarter.

He also commended the security agencies for keeping vigil to ensure that there was no security breach within and outside the polytechnic environment.

Yahya said that the improvement in the enrolment was due to academic stability and the hard work from the academic staff of the polytechnic.

He gave an assurance that the management would continue to work in harmony with all stakeholders in the institution to ensure peace and academic stability on the campus.

It would be recalled that the Federal Polytechnic Mubi was shut in October 2014 following attacks by the Boko Haram sect which left about 26 students and some teachers killed.

The school was however re-opened in June 2015.
