• The Executive Secretary of the National Universities Commission, Prof. Julius Okojie, has stated that the syllabuses of courses studied in universities are outdated.

    Okojie, who made the statement when the Computer Professionals Council of Nigeria (CPN) visited him in Abuja, said that the major challenges affecting quality teaching in universities included poor teacher-student ratio, outdated curriculum, lack of effective computer software and hardware development, archaic system, insecurity, examination malpractices and relevance of subject thought.

    He called on all stakeholders in the sector to rise to the challenge in order to improve the quality of education in the country.
