Nigerian First Lady Aisha Buhari speaks on Children’s Day.
The incoming first lady of Nigeria, Mrs Aisha Muhammadu Buhari, has assured Nigerians of the incoming administration’s commitment to improving the welfare and development of children in the country.
According to Mrs. Buhari, children play important role in the development of the nation in the future.
In a statement issued yesterday by the wife of the President-elect to mark this year’s International Children’s Day celebration, Buhari said that education will be the focus of the incoming All Progressives Congress-led government under her husband.
“Our children are our future and the education of our children is the best way to secure the future of our country”, she added.
Mrs. Buhari called for the speedy implementation of the Child Rights Act which has been passed by the National Assembly but is yet to be adopted by several states across the country.
