• Students from Ogun State under the aegis of the National Association of Ogun State Students have announced plans to protest government’s inability to pay the bursary of its members for the 2012/2013 and 2013/2014 academic sessions.

The President of the association, Mr. Balogun Abdulgaffar, who stated this in Abeokuta, said that Governor Ibikunle Amosun-led administration had not kept to his promise of paying the bursary since August.

He said members of the association will embark on a peaceful protest, starting from the Governor’s Office, if the authorities fail to pay them after the 14-day ultimatum had expired.

It will be recalled that about 32,784 students of the state were awarded scholarships worth N396 million for the year 2013.
