• UPDATE: INEC has shifted the 2015 election dates to March 28th for Presidential and National Assembly and April 11th for Governorship and State House of Assembly. The timetable/schedule of events below remain the same with the exception of the changed dates.

It is no longer news that the Independent Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced dates and published the names of candidates for the 2015 general elections in Nigeria.

This year’s election is very crucial in our nascent democracy and calls for the participation of all and sundry, especially the youths who seems to have participated more in the electioneering process than in the polls its self. In the coming days, we hope to share posts that will encourage Nigerian students and youths to not just go for political campaigns but to actually cast their votes on the day of election, and possibly run for elective positions in future elections.

According to the recently published election time table, the Presidential and National Assembly elections will hold on February 14th, 2015 (now March 28th), while the Governorship and State House of Assembly elections will take place on February 28th, 2015 (now April 11th, 2015).

Attached below is the detailed timetable and schedule of activities as released by INEC (Old time-table). Simply substitute the election dates with the new ones as stated above.
