• The Lagos State Government’s decision to charge candidates seeking admission into junior secondary schools in the state, a N10,000 Computer Based Test (CBT) fee, has attracted criticism from the Education Rights Campaign (ERC).

The National Coordinator of ERC, Mr. Hassan Soweto, said that the amount is criminal and called on the state government to immediately reversed it in the interest of the good people of the state.

Calling on the state government to live up to its much advertised free education policy, the National Coordinator said it is nothing but a show of shame when a government claims to be implementing free education while it, at the same time, imposes on parents and guardians all kinds of charges running into thousands of naira.
