• No fewer than 231 graduates from the two colleges of Crawford University, Igbesa in Ogun State, received their first degrees, postgraduate diplomas and Masters’ degrees during the 8th Convocation ceremony of the institution held recently.

    Speaking at the event, the Vice-Chancellor of the university, Professor Isaac Rotimi Ajayi, said that 21 of the graduating students, representing nine per cent, obtained First Class degrees.

    In a further breakdown of the graduating students’ results, the VC said 86 graduands came out with Second Class Upper Division, and 76 graduated with Second Class Lower Division.

    He added that the other 48 graduating students fall into other categories.

    Ajayi also said that 37 students graduated in the Postgraduate School for the award of Postgraduate Diplomas and Masters degrees.

    On the quality of the graduates, Ajayi stressed that the students were being equipped intellectually, morally and spiritually through their exposure to the pure and undiluted gospel of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

    While congratulating the graduating students, the vice-chancellor specifically recognised the overall graduating student, Akinsola Victoria Ireti from the Department of Geology and Mineral Sciences, who graduated with First Class with a CGPA of 4.89 points.
