• Bayero University Kano & Yobe State University Sign MOU on Qur’anic Studies.

    The Centre for Qur’anic Studies, Bayero University, Kano (BUK) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Centre for Research in Qur’anic Studies, Yobe State University (YSU), Dmaturu.

    Speaking at the signing ceremony held at the Centre for Qur’anic Studies’ Conference Hall BUK on Monday, 7th December, 2015, the Director of the BUK Centre, Prof. Ibrahim Muhammad, thanked Bayero University management under the leadership of Prof. Muhammad Yahuza Bello for the support he had been giving the centre, which according to him, had been the secret behind its success.

    On the MOU signed, Prof. Muhammad said the two parties would collaborate in various programs and activities for the promotion of Qur’anic Studies in Nigeria.

    He said the two centres would jointly organise national and international Qur’anic competitions in terms of memorization, interpretation, Tajweed and calligraphy.

    Muhammad, who signed the MOU on behalf of Bayero University further stated that the two Universities would benefit from each other under the memorandum of understanding.

    In his speech, Prof. Moussa Oumar Keita, who signed the MOU on behalf of the Centre for
    Research in Qur’anic Studies, Yobe State University said his centre would benefit from the experience of the BUK centre in Qur’anic Studies.

    He thanked both Bayero University and Yobe State University for making this MOU a reality. He hoped that this would be the beginning of their relationship which he said would bring development to the doors of the two centres.

    The MoU the two centres signed is for two years, but subject to review.
