• The 14th and 15th combined convocation ceremonies of the Benue State University, Makurdi (BSUM) scheduled to take place on Saturday, 17th January, 2015 will see a total of 9,340 students receive their first degree certificates.

    The Vice-Chancellor of the university, Professor Charity Angya, made this known during the pre-convocation press conference held at the institution’s auditorium on Wednesday.

    The VC gave the breakdown of the graduating students as follows; 7, 832 first degree, 1, 104 post graduate, 346 master degrees and 58 doctorate degrees.


    Professor Angya further disclosed that the institution would confer honourary degrees on two prominent sons of the state; Justice James Ogebe and late Senator Joshua Adagba.

    He added that a new chancellor would be installed in person of HRH Dr Lawal Hassan Gunmi, Sarkin Mafara Gummi, the Emir of Gummi.
