• No fewer than 871 graduands would be awarded various degree certificates during the Benson Idahosa University (BIU), Benin City 2014/2015 session Convocation ceremony.

    Speaking at a press briefing, the Vice Chancellor of the institution, Prof. Ernest Izevbigie, said that forty one students will graduate with First Class honours during the event on Saturday.

    The VC said the university would consider some of the First Class graduates for immediate employment.

    He said the convocation lecture titled “Effective Educational System: A Panacea for Societal Development and Transformation” would be delivered by former President Olusegun Obasanjo.

    Izevbigie added that the university plans to pay its lecturers more than Federal universities because of the international status the institution has attained.
