• A total of forty two students will receive their first degree certificates during the maiden convocation ceremony of Akwa Ibom State University scheduled for Saturday, May 2nd, 2015.

    Speaking at a media briefing, the university’s Vice Chancellor, Prof. Eno James Ibanga, said that two of the graduating students bagged First Class honours.

    He said that the two best graduating students and others graduates with a CGPA not less than 4.00 will be automatically employed as Graduate Assistants in the institution.

    Prof. Ibanga explained that the gesture will enable the retention of some of the institution’s best brains in the system while fostering Ph.D training at the university.

    Giving a further breakdown of the graduating student’s results, the VC said that 18 of them came out with Second Class Upper division while 19 bagged Second Class Lower. The other 3 made Third Class.

    He congratulated the pioneer graduands and urged them to be good ambassadors of the university.
