• Students of the Adeyemi University of Education (AUE), Ondo State recently elected the new executives of the Students’ Union Government (SUG) through electronic voting.

    The Vice President of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Ayenuro Gbenga, who monitored the election on behalf of the association lauded the use of electronic voting in the contest, describing it as a good innovation and a novel idea capable of bringing credibility to electoral process.

    At the conclusion of the elections, Ogunrotifa Richard emerged as President with Oluwatoba Victoria elected as the Vice President.

    Other elected officers are Kolawole Oluranti, who was voted as General Secretary and Abdulraman Babatunde, elected Director of Welfare.

    In his reaction, the Provost of the institution, Prof. Olukoya Ogen, expressed delight that the election was hitch-free and commended the maturity and discipline displayed by the contestants and students in general during the contest.

    He congratulated the winners and pledged his administration’s willingness to work with the new excos in the task of moving the institution forward.
