• The Governing Council of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko (AAUA), at its 59th Regular Meeting on Friday, September 18, 2015, ratified the elevation of its three academic staff to the position of full Professor.

    The ratification followed the consideration of the reports of the interview panel for the appointment, which were read by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Igbekele Ajibefun.

    The three academics are Nireti Augustinah Duyilemi, Professor of Science Education; Omotayo Omoladun Oloruntoba-Oju, Professor of Dramatic Literature; and Emmanuel Alaba Gbadamosi, Professor of Silviculture and Tree Improvement.

    Prof. (Mrs.) Duyilemi obtained Nigerian Certificate in Education (NCE) in Biology/Geography in 1980 from the then Ondo State College of Education, Ikere Ekiti, after which she bagged a B.Sc.Ed. in Biology Education from Ondo State University, Ado-Ekiti, now Ekiti State University, Ado-Ekiti. She later obtained her Masters in Science Education from the same University in 1991. She had her Ph.D. in Science Education in 1997 from University of Ibadan, Ibadan, Oyo State.
    She joined the services of the then Ondo State University, Ado-Ekiti, as a Graduate Assistant in 1990. She has attended over 20 conferences from across the globe and has over 40 publications to her credit in both local and international journals, chapters in books and conference proceedings, and has published four books.

    Prof. (Mrs.) Oloruntoba-Oju attended the University of Ilorin where she bagged a B.A. in English and Performing Arts in 1985. She obtained an M.A. in Theatre Arts from the University of Ibadan in 1987; and earned a Ph.D. in Literature in English from University of Ilorin in 1997. After about 20 years stint at the University of Ilorin, she joined the services of AAUA in 2006 as a Senior Lecturer in the Department of English Studies.
    She has over 20 articles published in both local and international journals; contributed seven books, and published a book; and she has attended a number of local and international conferences.

    Prof. Gbadamosi obtained a B.Sc. (Forest Resources Management) in 1995, bagged an M.Sc. (Forest Biology and Silviculture) in 1998 and Ph.D. (Silviculture and Tree Improvement) in 2002, all from University of Ibadan.
    Gbadamosi joined the services of AAUA in 2004 as a Lecturer I. He has over 30 articles published in both local and international journals, and has attended about 20 local and international conferences.
