Hundreds of students of the Yaba College of Technology, YABATECH staged a massive protest yesterday over the death of a fellow student, identified as Lasan Charity, whom they alleged to have died as a result of negligence by the Medical Center.
The angry students said the deceased, a final year student of Office Technology and Management (OTM), went to the Medical Center at about 5am due to illness but was denied proper treatment and was reportedly abandoned by nurses.
The students are calling on the school management to improve the dilapidated condition of the college’s medical facilities and investigate the cause of death of their college.
