UNIUYO Student Caught With Bombs Inside The Hostel
A University of Uyo diploma student, Kufre Anwana, was caught with two improvised explosive devices (IEDS) at the male hostel of the school on Monday.
It was gathered that some students, on noticing a bag containing the IEDs which were in custody of the suspect, alerted the operatives of Peace on Campus Initiative (PCI).
Operatives of PCI were said to have trailed the suspect to his hostel where it was discovered that the suspected bomber was in possession of IEDs.
The Anti-bomb squad of the Akwa Ibom State Police Command, Ikot AkpanAbia, Uyo, which was drafted to the scene ascertain situation, on discovering the IEDs, arrested the suspect.
The squad, according to eyewitnesses, detonated the two IEDs, even as they conducted a search round the hostel.
When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer, Akwa Ibom State Command, DSP Etim Dickson, confirmed the incident urging students and parents to stay calm.
This country has truly degenerated to something else. Imagine applying all the knowledge gained in school for this type of devilish act.
