The Governing Council of the University of Port Harcourt, at the 155th meeting held on Tuesday, May 26th, 2015 approved the appointment of a new vice chancellor for the institution.
The new Vice-Chancellor is Professor Ndowa Lale, a native of Eleme in Rivers State.
Prof. Lale of the Department of Crop and Soil Sciences emerged the new VC after a rigorous interview process that involved ten candidates running for the seat.
The announcement was made by the Chairman of the governing council, Mr. Gesi Asamaowei.
