There was palpable tension at the Osun State University, Osogbo today, following the termination of appointments of three principal officers of the institution by the Governing Council.
The sacked officers include the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Bashir Okesina; the Registrar, Dr. Julius Faniran and the Bursar, Alhaji Fatai Lasisi.
The termination of their appointments followed the recommendations of a visitation panel set up by the Visitor to the university, Governor Rauf Aregbesola to look into the allegation of financial mismanagement in school.
According to the announcement, the termination is effective immediately.
