University of Mkar UNIMKAR Graduates 688 Students in Combined Convocation Ceremony.
No fewer than 688 students received their first degree certificates at the combined Convocation ceremonies of the University of Mkar (UNIMKAR), Benue State, on 28the November, 2015.
In his speech, the Vice-Chancellor of the university, Prof. Emmanuel Agba, said that out of the 688 graduating students in 11 programmes, the 3rd set of 2010/2011 produced 124, 4th set of 2011/2012 (186), 5th set of 2012/2013 (175) while 6th set of 2013/2014 produced 203.
He said the four of the graduating students bagged First Class Honours, 121 bagged Second Class Upper Division, 400 graduated with Second Class Lower Division, 158 with 3rd Class and 5 with pass.

Prof. Agba explained that out of the 12 programmes offered by the University, seven had Full Accreditation status, while the remaining five had Interim Accreditation status.
He added that the University would address the identified challenges, remedy the situation and ensure that all its programmes attained full accreditation status.
The VC disclosed that the University commenced its postgraduate programmes in the 2014/2015 academic session, with MSc in three programmes: Microbiology, Food Science and Technology as well as Sociology.

Among the dignitaries at the event are the secretary to the Benue State Governor, Barr. Tagma Takama; UNIMKAR BoT Chairman, Senator (Dr.) Barnabas Gemade; Chancellor, Prof. Jerry Gana; Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of Council, Barr. Abraham Akpe.
