The Vice Chancellor of University of Ilorin, Prof. Abdulganiyu Ambali has disclosed that a student of the institution died as a result of the ongoing strike in University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital (UITH).
According to the VC, the female student died after she was rushed to the hospital on emergency, but there was no one to attend to her.
Prof. Ambali explained that the female student was admitted in the university clinic for three days until there was the need to rush her to the teaching hospital, when her condition became critical.
The Vice Chancellor said the situation is a sad one and called on the striking workers to take the students into consideration.
