UNILAG DLI Admission Form Details Published.
Applications are invited from qualified candidates for admission into the following programs of the University of Lagos (UNILAG) which will be offered by Open and Distance Learning mode.
- B.Sc. IN ACCOUNTING
- B.Sc. IN BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION
- B.Sc. IN ECONOMICS
- B.Sc. IN PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION
- B.Sc. IN EDUCATION SCIENCE
- B.Sc. in Education /Biology
- B.Sc. in Education /Chemistry
- B.Sc. in Education /Physics
- B.Sc. in Education/Mathematics.
General Entry Requirements:
The following candidates are eligible to apply:
- Applicants for the Distance Learning Institute program shall not be less than 16 years of age by 31st October 2021.
- Graduates of the University of Lagos or any other University recognized by Senate with Degrees in relevant disciplines
- Holders of Higher National Diploma (HND) or National Diploma (ND) or National Certificate in Education (NCE) in the relevant disciplines.
- Holders of recognized relevant full professional qualifications particularly ACA, ANAN, ACCA, ACMA, ACIA, ACIS, ACIB, and CII may be considered for admission at the enhanced level provided they have five credits at WASCE/SSCE/GCE/NECO (‘O’ Level) or its equivalent, which must include English Language, Mathematics, Economics plus any other two (2) relevant subjects at not more than two (2) sittings.
- Holders of WASCE/SSCE/GCE/NECO (‘O’ Level) or its equivalent with credit in five (5) subjects including English Language, Mathematics plus any other three (3) relevant subjects at not more than two (2) sittings.
NOTE: (a) Point of entry for candidates in categories 2.1 to 2.3 will depend on details of their Transcripts and such candidates must also satisfy the WASCE/SSCE/GCE/NECO (‘O’ Level) or its equivalent as stated in 2.4 above.
(b) All academic transcripts for the candidates in categories 2.1 and 2.2 must reach the Institute Secretary, Distance Learning Institute, in sealed envelopes forwarded directly from the awarding institution on or before the start of the session in which admission is being sought.
Specific Entry Requirements:
2.1 B.Sc. ACCOUNTING AND B.Sc. BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION
The following candidates are eligible to apply: Graduates of the University of Lagos or any other university recognized by Senate (only candidates with good honours degrees in relevant disciplines will be considered for admission at enhanced entry-level).
Holders of Higher National Diploma (HND) or National Diploma (ND) or National Certificate in Education (NCE) in the relevant disciplines. For this category, please note that only holders of HND with at least Upper Credit will be eligible for admissions at enhanced entry-level.
Holders of recognized relevant full professional qualifications such as ACA, ACCA, ACMA, ACIA, ACIS, ACIB, CII, may be considered for admission at the enhanced level provided they have five credits at WASSCE/SSCE/GCE/NECO (O’ Level) or its equivalent, which must include English Language, Mathematics, Economics plus any other two subjects at not more than two (2) sittings.
Holders of WASSCE/SSCE/GCE/NECO (O’ Level) or its equivalent with credits in five (5) subjects including English Language, Mathematics, Economics plus any other two subjects at not more than two (2) sittings.
NOTE: Point of entry for candidates in categories a, b and c will depend on details of their Transcripts and such candidates must also satisfy the WASSCE/SSCE/GCE/NECO (O’ Level) or its equivalent as stated in (d) above.
2.2B B.Sc. ECONOMICSQUALIFICATIONS FOR ENTRY INTO YEAR ONE
WASSCE/SSCE/GCE/NECO (O’ Level) or its equivalent with 5 credits to include English Language, Mathematics, Economics plus any other two (2)subjects at not more than two (2) sittings.
2.3 B.Sc. PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION QUALIFICATIONS FOR ENTRY INTO YEAR ONE
WASSCE/SSCE/GCE/NECO (O’ Level) or its equivalent with 5 credits to include English Language, Mathematics, Government plus any other two (2) subjects at not more than two(2) sittings.
2.4 B.Sc. EDUCATION SCIENCE PROGRAMME QUALIFICATIONS FOR ENTRY INTO YEAR ONE
Applicants must have relevant professional experience, plus any ONE of the following three qualifications:
WASSCE/SSCE/GCE/NECO (O’ Level) or its equivalent with credits in five subjects including English Language and Mathematics and at least two other science subjects; at not more than two(2) sittings from the following:
B.Sc. Education Biology – Biology, Chemistry and one other Science subject of Physics or Agricultural Science.
B.Sc. Education Chemistry – Chemistry and any two of Physics, Biology, Agricultural Science or any other Science subject.
B.Sc. Education Mathematics – Mathematics and Physics and one other Science subject of Chemistry, Biology, Agricultural Science or any other Science subject including at least a pass in Further Mathematics.
B.Sc. Education Physics – Physics and Chemistry and one other Science subject of Biology, Agricultural Science or any other science subject.
Teacher’s Grade II Certificate (TCII) with at least Merit in five subjects including English Language, Mathematics and at least two other science subjects at the TCII/WASSCE/SSCE/NECO/GCE (Ordinary Level) or its equivalent;
Any other qualification that may be considered equivalent to (a) and (b) above, by the University Senate.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR ENTRY INTO YEAR TWO
(a) Two A/Level passes in proposed subjects of study(Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Physics) plus the WASSCE/GCE/SSCE/NECO (O’ Level)or its equivalent with credit in five subjects in English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, Physics and any other science subject (For Education Mathematics at least a pass in Further Mathematics is Compulsory).
(b) National Certificate in Education (NCE) obtained from the former College of Education, University of Lagos, in the Science subjects to be offered, or from any College of Education recognized by the Senate of the University of Lagos with Credit/Merit (in proposed subject of study) and any other Science subject.
How to Apply:
- Long on to JAMB CAP Website and Register (Part-Time) and pay a sum of #3,500 to enable you to obtain a registration number
- Then log on to the UNILAG application portal http://applications.unilag.edu.ng
- Click “Start Fresh Application”
- Select Distance Learning Institute as application type, then supply your Surname, First Name, Middle Name, JAMB Registration Number, Mobile Number, and Email Address.
- Click the ‘’pay now’’ to pay online, the Application Fee of N17,500.00 (Seventeen Thousand, Five Hundred Naira) only, OR print the payment advice with Remita Number to make payment at any Commercial Bank.
- Return to the application portal (http://applications.unilag.edu.ng) after payment, click ‘’continue application’’, input your payment reference number and your surname in lowercase as password.
- Complete all required details and upload necessary documents such as
– Testimonial (Primary or Secondary)
– Birth Certificate/Sworn Affidavit that predates the admissions advertisement
– ‘O’ Level Certificate/All other Qualifications
– NYSC Certificate/NYSC Exemption Certificate (for Direct Entry candidates)
– Marriage Certificate and Newspaper classification (Married female only) - Complete the application form, submit it online and print a copy. (Applicant is allowed to save the application form and later complete the Form in case certain information are not readily available).
