The Katsina State Government has approved the appointment of Professor Idris Isa Funtua as the new vice chancellor of Umaru Musa Yar’adua University.
Funtua will replace Prof. Mu’uta Ibrahim, whose tenure had expired.
The new VC, a former deputy vice chancellor at the Ahamdu Bello University (ABU) Zaria, emerged victorious after a screening exercise with 12 other professors.
His tenure will run for five years.
