The Rivers State University of Science & Technology (RSUST) hereby invites interested persons with vast experience in School Administration to apply for the post of Headmistress in the Staff Primary School.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The Headmistress who shall head the Staff School will be required to perform the following functions:
i) Be in charge of the day to day affairs of the school
ii) Ensure adequate supervision and close monitoring of Teachers.
iii) Ensure proper welfare of pupils within the school hours
iv) Provide adequate/conducive learning atmosphere for the pupils
v) Provide up to date information relating to public schools in Rivers State to guide the Management of the University.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
The person for the position of the Headmistress is required to be a Graduate Teacher plus at least a minimum of 16 years post graduate experience or Graduate Teacher with NCE, Teacher’s Grade II plus at least a minimum of 15 years post-graduation experience plus evidence of Microsoft Certification.
Specifically, the candidate shall be expected to:
a) Be a person of impeccable character, who is honest and against whom no serious allegation of wrong doing has been proved.
b) Possess a robust health and demonstrate good public relations.
c) Be innovative in terms of ideas.
d) Be not more than 55 years.
CONDITIONS OF SERVICE
Remuneration and other conditions of service are as applicable to the post of Headmistress in Staff Schools of Nigerian Universities and as may be determined from time to time.
METHOD OF APPLICATION
Interested applicants who meet the above conditions should submit twenty (20) copies of their application accompanied by detailed curriculum vitae duly signed and dated.
The curriculum vitae must include the candidate’s name in full, place and date of birth, marital status, number and age of children, academic qualifications, administrative and managerial experience, membership of academic and professional bodies, names and addresses of three references and other relevant information.
All candidates must have three (3) referees who are to forward references on them directly to the Registrar and
Secretary to Council. Such reference should be able to attest to the candidate’s capabilities as well as moral uprightness.
All shortlisted candidates may be required to make themselves available for interview on a later date.
Applications are to be submitted under confidential cover in envelopes marked at the upper head corner “Post of Headmistress” to reach the Registrar and Secretary to Council, Rivers State University of Science & Technology, PMB 5080, Port Harcourt not later than Thursday 25th June 2015.
